James Newman,  Non-executive Chairman
James is Chairman of Straight plc, Brulines (Holdings) plc and Infoserve Group plc and a Non-Executive Director of Scott Wilson Group plc, Dignity plc and The Scarborough Building Society, as well as a governor of Sheffield Hallam University. He was formerly Deputy Chief Executive and Group Finance Director of Kelda Group plc and Group Finance Director of a number of other public companies. He has also been Chairman of Waste Recycling Group plc and a Non-Executive Director of Richmond Foods plc before their respective takeovers in 2003 and 2006.
James is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.


Peter Kennedy, Chief Executive
Peter established Bglobal Metering in 2003. Peter has over 25 years experience in the software industry where he has held a variety of positions. In 1983 Peter co-founded (with Martin Evans) QCL Systems Limited and held the position of managing director. QCL Systems Limited was then sold to Optim Group in 1988. Peter was then the managing director of IQ Computing Ltd, a system integration business, for seven years. In 1997 he founded Formfill Limited ("Formfill") with Martin Evans, a software company specialising in business to business transactions. Formfill has customers in Singapore, Continental Europe and Australia.


Tony Stiff, Commercial Director
As an entrepreneur and energy industry professional, Tony has extensive knowledge of starting and growing successful businesses. In 1994 he co-founded Webbins Limited, a software company which provided retail pricing and trading systems to the energy market. This business grew to over £10 million turnover and a profit of £2.5 million before being sold to MMT Computing plc in 2000. From 2000 to 2004 Tony was joint Chief Executive of Atlantic Electric & Gas Limited, where he grew the business from a start up to over £250 million turnover within 3 years and led a team of over 400 staff. He joined Bglobal Metering in October 2004.


John Atkin, Finance Director
John is a qualified chartered accountant with many years experience. He was the Group Finance Director of P&P plc when it listed on the Official List in 1988. Subsequently, the P&P Group expanded through a series of acquisitions both in the UK and overseas. John retired from P&P (by then renamed Skillsgroup) in February 1999 and subsequently acted as a non-executive director/consultant for a number of companies. He is currently a non-executive director of Formfill Limited and Interactive Dialogues Limited. He was recently a director of Armstrong Laing plc which was sold to Business Objects (a US public company). He was appointed to the Board of Bglobal Metering in November 2003.


Martin Evans,  Non-executive Director
Martin graduated from Liverpool University in 1979 with a first class honours degree in mathematics. He has subsequently been involved as a software specialist in the IT industry. During this time, Martin has worked with a wide variety of development tools, techniques and methodologies. In 1983 he founded, along with Peter Kennedy, QCL Systems Ltd and held the position of Technical Director. QCL Systems Ltd was then sold to Optim Group in 1988. Martin was also the Technical Director of IQ Computing Ltd until 1997. In the same year, Martin co-founded Formfill Limited with Peter Kennedy.



Management Team


Stephen Whitehead, Data Services Director
Stephen spent over 25 years with Norweb, and held various management positions with responsibilities for billing, credit management, revenue protection, customer contact, call centre and safety and faults information centre operations. Stephen spent a further five years with Vertex Data Sciences Limited, one of the UK's leading providers of outsourced business services and technology solutions. Stephen had specific responsibilities for business change, process re-engineering, major system implementations and played an active role in the de-regulation of the electricity market. Prior to leaving Vertex, he was the Business Development Manager for the utility sector. Stephen joined Bglobal Metering as Data Services Director in January 2004.


Derick Burns, Meter Operations Director
A commercial manager with extensive experience in the electricity supply industry in a career spanning more than 25 years. Derick has held a number of senior roles at Norweb Contracting, United Utilities and Vertex Data Sciences Limited prior to joining Bglobal Metering in October 2006.


Gerry Weatherall, Technical Director
Gerry was Technical Director of EDMI up to December 2005. Whilst at EDMI Gerry was responsible for the development of the EDMI Mk10 smart meter. He joined Bglobal Metering in January 2006 and is actively involved in the development of all of Bglobal Metering's new products including the joint development of a residential smart meter.


Nick Kennedy, Financial Controller
Having graduated from Oxford University with a 2:1 in Economics and Management, Nick trained as a chartered accountant at Deloitte & Touche. He then spent two years with Grant Thornton Corporate Finance within the Transaction Services department. Nick joined Bglobal Metering in December 2005 and has the responsibility for day to day management of the finance function and oversees all billing on major contracts. Nick set up the trade finance facility with Davenham Group plc and is responsible for ongoing management of the facility and has played an integral part in negotiations on supplier and customer pricing decisions.
